...but no elite status bonus miles?

Also, it would not let me select a free seat, as an OW emerald.

Towards the bottom of this page, http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/ea.../airberlin.jsp it says:

AAdvantage Elite Status Member Benefits
The following benefits apply to AAdvantage Executive Platinum, AAdvantage Platinum and AAdvantage Gold members when flying on airberlin or their affiliate airlines:

Minimum mileage guarantee for travel on flights under 500 miles
Additional elite status bonus miles for AAdvantage Executive Platinum, AAdvantage Platinum and AAdvantage Gold members.
Additional oneworld airline recognition and benefits
But you're right, the link doesn't list airberlin.

Airberlin will finally get some business from me -- and I will get some miles (100%BIS) from their flights. ^^

In typical AA aa.com fashion, it will probably be some time before every page reflecting the full oneworld status of airberlin and NIKI is brought up to date on aa.com. At least the aa.com page on airberlin seems to have the most necessary information.

(Just watch that when you book you do not wind up with any fare class other than those published on the aa.com pag; I don't know if they have others, but they might - and I am sure this thread will be updated by members to show any that might not earn EQM.)

I think that's 1.5 EQP, not EQM.

Last year, aa.com presented me with JFK-ZUR-HER with the ZUR-HER leg on airberlin as the only one-stop option to get to Crete on the day I needed to fly. (There was a one-stop with Malev on a different day, but look how well that went...) This was after weeks of searching and investigating other carriers to get us to Europe because all the oneworld itineraries involved two stops and way too much time away from the beach. What a relief to see that flight show up one day. I did some research and learned about airberlin and its future with oneworld. Yay!

We will fly airberlin again this year on an award ticket to Naples. The amount saved on taxes was incredible compared to the alternate routing that involved BA and a transfer between LHR and LGW to get to Naples. Looking forward to having increased flight options to Europe that enables us to skip over LHR and all fees associated with it.

As nall said, no. As airberlin is a fully fledged oneworld airline, you will earn 1 Base Mile / 1 EQP per mile flown, receive 0.25 bonus mile for class of service and 1.5 EQP per mile flown, as well as status bonus miles.
