If you are using the [Awards/JL-OneWorld] Method in the KVS Tool, those CX Award Seats are definitely available and you should follow the steps in Q32 of the KVS Tool User Guide FAQ if the Agent claims otherwise.

If you are using BA.com or other websites, you may be seeing phantom CX Awards Availability.

I'm trying to book a ticket from LAX to HKT, or BKK on March 16th , coming back on 27. BA and Qantas.Com show quite a few days available, but when I call AA, they can't find any days available in March after the 9th. I don't have KVS, but expertflyer shows a lot of seats available on those flights, what should I do?

To be clear, KVS just screen scrapes websites, so it won't give you any more clarity than the sources it uses to get the results.

Thank you, I appreciate! I understand that there's nothing on Mar 16, but the agent kept looking and couldn't find anything from Mar9 until the end of the month, at least for Phuket.

That's what I figured, that at least a few days must have seats open in March. How come AA agents didn't see any?

seriously thinking about signing up for KVS tool, is it worth it? especially compared to expertflyer? any discount signup codes or anything? I'm mainly looking for award availability on OW airlines and SWU availability on AA.

The only source for full SWU availability (First and Business) on AA is ExpertFlyer. ExpertFlyer buys the data from the AA reservation system while KVS screen scrapes it from airline websites (however not AA.com). EF also has alerts for seats, award/upgrade inventory and aircraft changes which KVS doesn't have.

EF has a product page and a 5-day free trial of their product, so determine for yourself if it works for you.

Please contact us directly, as this question would be off-topic for this thread.

KVS Tool has 100% Award Availability Coverage across all OneWorld airlines.

Please consult the AA section of the KVS Tool User Guide for details on SWU support.

I tried to book a c-class award on CX from HKG to any city in Australia around 28/29 January 2017 but there seems to be zero availability to all destinations. AA could not see anything +/- 7 days (either with QR and EY from DOH/AUH). Is there a high chance space will open up in the next couple of days?

KVS does not show C inventory on AA, which is the most commonly sought inventory for SWU usage.

I'm looking for 2 seats in business to Europe from HKG either late on 18 May or in the early hours of 19 May.

QF says there is availability to Milan (MXP) (CX233) on 19 May. BA says there is only one seat on that flight. AA says none.

Both QF and BA say there is availability to ZRH (CX383) on 18 May. AA says there is not.

Who is right and if the seats are available, how do I persuade AA of this?!

You don't... Some of the partner airlines only release part of their inventory so their site will show availability that AA can't touch. This is particularly an issue with reward inventory. Everyone (especially AA) is playing games with their inventory trying to maximize revenue. Passengers are the ones that lose is such games.

Your best bet is to continue to call and snap up whatever is released to AA when it's released. Good luck.
