I would have had defined the trifecta differenty...

1) (Multi)-Million Mile achievement --> 4 eVIPs (I know this doesn't happen every year)
2) EXP requalification --> 8 eVIPs
3) 125,000 EQM's --> 2 add'l eVIPs (or AC membership/Au Card for 1 person)

My Trifecta would consist of earning the 14 possible eVIPs in the calendar year.

I'll make XP with 100,075 miles this year. Not even close on segments or points.

Rats, I really wish I oould do something about those last 75 miles.

I would be fairly certain that few, if any of the segment qualifiers are leisure travelers. Seriously-would you do that to yourself by choice?

Cheers.

This is not an every-year thing, though. So, the max-per-year by existing rules would be 12, if one really could do MM/year.

Cheers.

You could always go the DB Cooper route on your last flight and call in afterwards and ask for 'real' ORC.

Just curious...how do you get your EQP:EQM ratio <0.5? Booking O between NA and Latin America?

combo of discounted flights and DEQM's got Mr. Ord Liza to .347 ratio (unless I messed up the math...) Wouldn't .25 be the lowest? If all miles were subject to DEQM and all flights were at the .5 EQP level?

You're right - I forgot about DEQM (it came at my least traveled time of year )

I miss the segments, but my wife has 'won' the last four years. My annual miles are 250k-300k with lots of intl travel. She makes two trips a year with me, but the rest is weekly travel from home (TPA) to office (MSN) and then trips during the week. The most of the segments are on RJ's...

Despite having a great deal of flying planned for the remainder of the year, I don't think I'll hit segments, I'll probably wind up in the ballpark of 85 segments. If the trifecta actually had some benefit, I could switch a batch of direct flights to connecting flights and actually hit the trifecta.

I'm at the following:

YTD Elite Qualifying Points 44,765
YTD Elite Qualifying Miles 102,929
YTD Elite Qualifying Segments 46

DEQM was responsible for about 25,000 of those miles. Typically my EQP/EQS are low compared to my EQM's, but not ever as low as this year!
