With so much air time on Five Star, I'm finding it tougher and tougher to get a booking on less than 3 days notice. Frankly on a recent trip which had 4 opportunities for service, only one was available, and that was booking 8 days out.

I booked for family travel at Christmas already. (Thanks HSBC!)

Great to see the program expanded.

I pay when traveling en famille, though I'd quite welcome another HSBC code!

Looks like international pricing on the website is substantially better than on the broshure--US $200 for one or two people vs. US $300 per person. The former looks a lot more attractive than the latter!

this looks like the concierge key service very very similar.

the escort to the gates and pre-boarding works in INTL airports, but DFW, ORD, JFK , MIA for example nobody knows about it and if you ask they get annoyed.

escorting through customs won't necessary get you to skip the lines in USA immigration/customs (maybe in europe or other countries)

CDG is not in the list, but it was one of the airports for example I skipped a long immigration line.

hoping someone use this service to tell experiences.

the one thing really worth it is the followup agents.. they are incredible awesome in terms of pro-activeness and power to do magic things. priceless !

In response to some folks recently asking about personal experiences:

Below is a previous post I made about my experiences with this service. (My only negative experience)

In addition to that experience, on a trip from BOS-JFK-LHR a five star rep met my mother and her SO (both traveling for their first time internationally)

In Boston, the 5 star rep called my brother (who was bringing them to the airport) and met them curb side. The Rep had their tickets ready and brought them to checkin to check in their bags. She then brought them to Security, then the Admirals Club and told them she would be back when it was time to board. She brought them onto the plane when it was time.

JFK was a very similiar experience and met them at the jet bridge and brought them to the Flagship Lounge.

Both experiences were very positive. (They also had the same positive experiences on the way back LHR-JFK-BOS)

My SO used the 5 star service for her grandmother and mother going from SFO-JFK-YYZ. In JFK the flight to YYZ was canceled. As a result, they offered them a limo to LGA where they would fly from there in First Class. (Flight was originally booked coach) Refusing this outstanding offer, they instead accepted coach on a partner airline from JFK.
Again, extremely accommodating and WELL worth the money.

In my quote below, this was the exception and the only time I wish we didn't purchase the service.

One rep brought her to the AAdmiral's Club and told her someone else would stop by when it was time to go. (The agent introduced her to the person who would come by later) My SO's sister was getting anxious as it became 30 minutes prior to take off and the Five Star Rep was chit chatting with the AC staff. Once she heard the "XX flight is now boarding" annoucement she found the gate and boarded herself.

I was very eager to use this service --- until I found out it did not cover international connections at JFK's T4. If anyone knows of a similar service available at T4 --- please do tell.

Well, AA doesn't have any presence in T4, so it's not surprising.

For connections assistance at LHR, does this handle AA arrival in T3 and BA departure in T5 (or vice versa)? A couple of times over the years, someone at AA met my arriving BA flight and drove us to T3, but I haven't seen this in a long time.

This could save a lot of time and provide for significantly more BA lounge time when transferring from AA to BA, if it avoids the T3-T5 shuffle and long lines at security.

It would really be nice if AMR/AXP added Five Star Service as a Centurion benefit. AXP could really use some AA love especially now that DL is proving Centurions Platinum Medallion Status. I'd even like to see FL access at JFK/LAX/LHR/MIA/ORD for Centurions but AA isn't cosy with Amex like DL.

called 5 star--they CANNOT help with transfers between terminals @ LHR

can only help within AA's terminal

This will unfortunately keep me flying BA to BA rather than AA to BA to get from West Coast to Denmark.
