A few weeks ago, Rev. Jesse Jackson and a colleague were in 1AB on the late afternoon Friday LAX-ORD. Second time I've been on a plane with him in the last few years, last time was on DL ORD-MEM.

We parked all the way out at H16, so we had to do the long walk through the terminal at midnight. A number of airport employees (non-AA) were quite thrilled to see him.

Gladys Knight, Sep 23, AA55, ORD-LAS. She and her husband played video games the entire flight. They were in 5E and 5F and I was in 6E. Great view of her the entire trip.

Michael Johnson, greatest 400m runner of all time, on AA1393 DFW-SFO this afternoon. Sat in 4B and worked on his laptop the whole flight. He still looks incredibly fit and was a perfect gentleman to crew and other pax.

Indeed. Joan was an incredibly loyal American Airlines customer and was known for being one of the friendliest, most kind and approachable celebrities that frequented American Airlines. She had close, personal relationships with various AA employees, including flight attendants and VIP ground staff. Many American Airlines employees from LAX and JFK attended her funeral, including flight attendants - she was that close to so many of them.

Finally another celeb I recognize. Jeff Goldblum on AA 4 LAX-JFK in business today. He was seated behind me, and his seat mate plus the guys across the aisle were all talking with him -- he seemed quite nice and willing to chat with people.
