Out of US, trying to call via Skype re: AA Award date change - meep?
Worst possible timing, but I'm trying to call AA in the US to have a J award return ticket changed to a later date. I have to rely on Skype with a poor connection that keeps hanging up, and right now because of the winter storms I'm faced with a 45-60 minute wait (Skype keeps dying well short of that).
Does anyone know of any other overseas reservations numbers that can handle changes to international award bookings? I'm in VN and they are just a local booking agent, so no access to awards.
Should I try Japan?

Try using Google Voice (http://voice.google.com) - It also shows up in the "chat" window when logged into GMail. Pretty much the same as Skype, but they offer free voice calls to the US and Canada.

If it's anything like United (I don't know if it is), you could simply call AA in the UK, Australia, or probably any number of countries and have a hold time of less than 5 minutes.
See http://www.aa.com/i18n/utility/inter...oneContact.jsp for the numbers. Just yesterday, I called UA in the UK to change an award and waited less than 2 minutes on hold. No status. Same for Australia.
Maybe American doesn't have local offices, though...I don't know.
