Problem: Saturation / Solution: Slash Frequency
Blame your flight departure delays on ATC today, the weather tomorrow, pilots the next day. But the underlying problem of AA's and other airlines' dismaying non-performance is saturation of airspace and airports. Wouldn't it be terrific if airlines reduced frequency by 25%, raised fares by 33%, and started getting us to our destinations on schedule 99% of the time?
(Do I sound exasperated? In my nine departures from ORD since July 1, I have been delayed more than two hours eight times and forced to stay overnight once. Our national airline network is losing credibility.)
