Singapore Airlines long haul award redemptions--any luck?

Anyone been able to book SQ business or first long haul awards using AMC miles? It is said not to be possible via Star Alliance partners but I wonder if there are not exceptions.

???
Clearly stated:

https://www.ana.co.jp/en/jp/amc/refe.../tk/usage.html
Reservation for Singapore Airlines Suites, First Class and Business class cabins are not permitted for award travel on the following Singapore Airlines aircraft (A350-900, A380-800, B777-200ER (retrofitted), B777-300ER)
So, if your long haul flight isn't operated by those aircraft, you have chance.
Or, are you trying to find reservation system glitch ?

Right, thank you. Asking because TPG (https://thepointsguy.com/) says exceptions occur, and I have personally found availability on some Tokyo-Australia routes. Just wondering if anyone has found award availability, despite the stated rule.

you are asking for luck and/or open sharing of results from a lot of manual searching work.

free hint: try the new zealand routes and canberra via sydney route. maybe istanbul too.
use aeroplan site or lifemiles site to find sq space and then check if amc site can see the same space.
you might get lucky.

simple returns SIN-CBR available on 77W long haul SQ configuration.

open jaw also available, if CBR is not your destination

Canberra is available readily from SIngapore.
(SIN-SYD-CBR-SYD is the route, so you can technically do SIN-SYD, and then SYD-SIN (via CBR).
However, if you chose a SIN-SYD return route, ANA website only provides only the SIN-HND-SYD route (and no availability)

So, SIN-CBR, SYD-SIN open jaw works (and reverse too, but CBR departure is nothing to write about, so better to return from SYD and enjoy the lounges there).

SIN-AKL returns also available, either on the SQ A380 or 77W. Enjoy!

So why is ANA restricting the reward redemption on SG for business class and higher?

SQ (outside of rare exceptions like the ones found above) doesn't release premium awards on particular aircraft. ANA is only capable of showing the space that SQ makes available to its partners.

Ah I understand, it's not specific to ANA.
Then if I want to fly SQ, it's just best I transfer miles directly to SQ, if using a card like an AMEX, correct?

Correct But the availability for SQ redemption is not amazing, you'll need some flexibility to find F awards. But at least it is generally available as opposed to other *A carriers

Yes, it's very good relative to what other programs make available these days.

Just booked F SIN-SFO last night using KF miles. Price goes up Jan. 24.

By price you mean the miles?

Is there not a NYC / SIN flight that doesn't go through FRA?

Yes, bookings after Jan 24th requires more miles. Not a big increase though

Yes you can fly EWR SIN non stop, but it does not have an F cabin.
