Award Routing Change - Change or Reissue?
I booked SYD-BKK // BKK-NRT-IAH // IAH-TPE-NRT-SYD a long while back and was pretty proud of my success there. However, to lock in the long hauls I had to book it before UA released domestic space, so I am missing a couple intra-US flights. Instead of paying cash I am willing to spend the 3k points change fee to tack on those flights now that they are available, but is this even worth calling to do? Because if they will need to fully cancel my current bookings there is NO way I will get those flights back on a new ticket. Really I'm just hoping they can tack on the flight as a change instead. Is that doable?

Unfortunately ANA requires space available on every leg to make any changes to routing. They’ll change dates but not routing. You can try calling and seeing if they’ll do it but I haven’t had any luck with such changes in my limited experience.
