I'd rather encounter a screaming kid in a theater or restaurant because I can get away if it becomes intolerable (or the parent can take the child out of the room until things are better.) On a plane I'm stuck, especially when the rest of the seats are full. And a nice dinner or theater ticket is generally quite a bit cheaper than a ticket in F.

I personally wish they wouldn't allow lap children in F. Get the child his or her own seat.
