Funny--I was commenting to one of my coworkers who knows about my FT addiction that I'm FINALLY going to check back in with FT, since I haven't been on since November 11 at 3:07 pm (according to the You Last Visited thing at the top of each page).
She looked at me for a sec and said, "That's, like, only three days ago."

The other day at SEA I was surprised to see there were a half dozen swap books already, in addition to the couple I'd brought along to leave there.
Do you ever see people leaving them at ANC?
I had a hard time finding the designated area at the PDX club, stuck around the back like that.

Hey folks. Hope everybody has been enjoying the weekend.
Does anyone have an estimate as to what percentage of the AS fleet has in-flight wireless as of today?
Thanks.

Row44 not going as fast as everyone hoped. The goal was to finish rollout by end of 2009, and well, we all know what happened. Regulatory issues was cited as the biggest hurdle. Some issues with the antenna vendor as well. Alaska's stance is that aircell is probably only good for low bandwidth applications, and row44 really shines in high bandwidth needs. They see it as a long term solution, and [aircell] as almost stop gap. Studies show that the leisure use of inflight wifi is greater than the business use, so they want to offer the fastest solution. However, AS was rather shocked by how quickly inflight internet has been adopted (and deployed) throughout the industry. Its no longer a differentiator but a bar that the industry has set.

mostly unrelated to AS but... i'm looking at possible upcoming travel to asia, ex-sea, starting in jan, multiple trips. what alliance is going to better serve me? i will have domestic travel but it'll probably stick to AS... but i am going to status match somewhere and i'm starting to think about what to do...
