In case of Military Action or Homeland Red Alert-Travel Reassurance

Dear Punki,

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air Offer Travel Reassurances

We at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air want to reassure you about making travel plans.

We have introduced a new travel policy that will allow you to postpone travel without incurring standard change fees in the event of military action or a Homeland Security-issued Level Red Alert. This means that
if you want to make changes to previously booked travel itineraries, you can apply the full value of your unused ticket toward the purchase of a new ticket with no change fee. (Typically change fees are US$50.) This policy applies to all flights operated by Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

This policy applies only for tickets urchased before military action or a Level Red Alert is declared. In other words, if military action were to begin tomorrow, this policy would not apply to any tickets you
buy after tomorrow. In addition, you must complete your rescheduled trip by September 1, 2003, to be eligible under this policy.

Also, make sure you change or cancel your original reservation before your originally scheduled departure date. ("No shows" are not eligible under this new policy.) Future reservations will be subject to availability and applicable fare rules.

Other details:
- If you change your itinerary under this new policy, you will be subject to any difference in fare (due to travel during a more expensive travel period or day of the week; because you upgraded your ticket; or
increased passenger facility charges or tax increases).
- Any rescheduled travel must follow all applicable advance purchase and minimum/maximum stay requirements.
- If you don't show up for a flight, you will not be eligible to change your itinerary under this policy.
