Yet here you are a decade later, still lurking around the Alaska forum.

The TWA brand lives on at the TWA Hotel at JFK.

I'm in. Acquired ticket on the chance I could get there from Idaho. Then this morning duty called and I had to move a trip up a week which placed my return via SFO right within the window of opportunity. Really looking forward to seeing Fred Reid again. He was on the inaugural IAD-SFO flight I took back in the day. I want to thank him for the many, many great experiences I had with VX.

Cheers,

-Cyborg

It lives on with all the trips I took in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s before the dark times, before the empir...Ichan.

Perhaps he isn't lurking, but trying to make a point on the chance it would improve AS. Just Saying. No need to attack the poster; ff rules and all...

Nostalgia is a powerful drug. I say this as I am shuffling a deck of Eastern Air Lines cards.

I for one regret that I never booked a flight on PanAm or TWA. Or that I never crossed the Atlantic on Concorde.

But I did fly on VX a few times. Always in coach, on short hops from SFO to LAS or back.

Well, the plates are more interesting, but the utensils are just as cheap as before

I guess any utensil can be bent if enough effort is applied although the post 911 plastic ones would require special skills...

2018 is a decade? Strange math you use - where I'm from a decade is 10 years, but it is a big wide world I suppose.

I do occasionally glance through the top threads from almost all the airline subforums to see what piques interest and try and stay informed. Alaska I have actually kept an eye on a bit more frequently of late since the Boeing blowout. Do I have your permission to continue ? XD

aren't we allowed to be nostalgic towards an airline that was nice for some of us?

I'd love to host a soiree or something for those of us who miss Alaska Airlines from 2014 and earlier - back when we had cheeseburgers in coach, annoying prayer card, carpeted bulkheads, handheld (and seat-held sorta) DigePlayers, and actual lettuce in salads in First Class.

Of course we are, and we all have memories of what we really miss - 1995 and earlier, back when we had real meals in coach, and three course meals on 500+ mile flights, and a salad cart on the lunch/dinner service SEA/ANC..
