Somewhat of an edge case - I was last person upgraded for a flight yesterday, but was downgraded again due to a seat blocked for MX. I'll still list it as upgraded since that's a more representative data point.

Route (Please bold if failure): ORD-SFO
Flight number: AS331
Status (MVP, Gold or 75K): 75K
Fare class: O
Companion: No
Aircraft: Boeing 737-900 (swap from MAX 9 when cleared, not that it matters)
Upgrade cleared: T-18 (downgraded sometime around T-5 after outbound dispatched from SFO)
Premium: At purchase
Date of ticket purchase: 02/12/2024
Distance: 1,846 miles

Time the upgrade cleared or position on waitlist if didn't clear: T-100 (is when I checked the app, not sure when it actually cleared)

I wish there was a push notification on the app of when you get upgraded, but happy to be upgraded esp with a companion

You do get upgrade notification close-in; although I got a notification email recently at the window.

Btw, you may want to check the font color of your post...think it's set to white, which does not show anything with white background

Hmm I just copy/pasted the template from a previous post and I'm using dark mode. Sorry about that! I do not get notifications unless it's verrrrry close to take-off and I'd prefer to just get the notification when it clears. Or at least an email.

Dark mode and copy and pasting the template is a problem. Not sure if there’s an easy fix except for dark mode users to manually change font color.

The seat I selected originally was inoperable, and was given the seat next to it.

Flight #898 OGG>PDX on 3/21, 75K, got upgraded at T-96+ hours - still haven't received an email but went in to look at the seat map and noticed my PC seat showed as available so I went into the app and found I had been upgraded. I selected a seat but as of today that's the only change from the FC seat map over the last week or so. Fwiw, flights to/from Hawaii are relatively empty (especially Maui post-fire) and at last check this one is less than half full. The upgrade list shows two people.... not sure why I got upgraded so far out and they haven't been yet. Guessing they are <75K

I noticed on a flight status page that a First Class passenger was checked in with 60 hours until scheduled departure. How is that possible?

<Pause thread while a bunch of Flyertalkers try to construct itineraries in which the first segment departs 36+ hours before the last>

This happened to my wife on BOS-SEA last year only the MX wasn't her assigned seat but they bumped her to Y anyway and moved someone else into her F seat. She got $100 ecert and her GGU back but still annoying.

Should have refunded her to a G fare ticket (instead of the N fare or higher that was paid) plus the $100 ecert. GGU's are worthless.
