Hah, I was just trying to figure out why there are 6 deadhead crew, 2 in F and 4 in EC+, while my SO and I sit #1/#2 for upgrades on a 6 hour flight. Guess that's fair.

There were a series of weather delays and operational failures resulting in a 7 hour delay. After deplaning the first time, it went J2 and the GAs refused to process the UG waitlist and instead assigned the seats to (2) non-revs (not DHD'ing). After deplaning the second time it went J8 and there was a new set of GAs. Only after querying the GAs did they processed myself and #2 and then stopped. The flight went out with J7 and 23 elites on the upgrade list. We idled for a very extended period upon the second and third boardings to allow any potentially straggling pax to make the flight and the GAs simply failed to process the UG WL.

This should be an easy upgrade but tonight I got the last seat in F about an hour before scheduled departure. AS has been filling the remaining F seats a day before departure, but not this time. As a side note, I do feel bad for the person who took my original seat in 8B.

I was definitely not expecting to get an upgrade to F as a simple MVP. Is this how Alaska normally is? In the week and a half that I've been flying with AS, I've been pretty happy so far! I was able to place an order for food, but was not able to select my seat as the mobile app keeps saying there's an issue or that the seat has already been picked. Other that that I don't really know what to do - first time being upgraded. It's honestly pretty exciting lol.
