Not quite the same scale, but I enjoyed some ridiculous routings around the Midwestern states back in the Northwest days. A lot of time flying mutli-segment itineraries like ORD-MSP-CLE-DTW-STL, STL-MSP-MKE-DTW-BUF, etc. on NW to collect several 500-mile minima rather than a single 500 mile minimum on the nonstop.
