I'm in F and Check-In Wants to Charge Me for Checking Bags

Checking in today for flight tomorrow. First class booked for 2 passengers. When I indicated two checked bags, AS is charging me $70 . I had choice to pay right away or wait until airport check in…..geez, 🤔 let me think.
I elected to wait and have chat at bag check in counter.
one would think that AS knows First Class PNR = no charge for bags 1 &2.
Never been an issue before….IT update?

It sounds like the upgrade professor took the reservations system out for drinks again.

Keep up posted!

Is it just me or are the reports of IT problems getting worse and worse (and more frequent, too)?

Or it is drinking all the PDBs the passengers aren't getting.

As for the OP, just curious if you're in J/D/C/I/E or U? That would be a good place to start to determine where the IT issue is. If I had to bet, I'd say it is E.

Well, AS has made plenty of upgrades. The underlying backend may still be the same. If it was all 70's era it would probably still work

Checkin today was very busy. Agent said her screen asked that I pay for checked bags…she could not understand why. Over rode with Agent code. Had requested wheelchair for DH, agent walked us over to counter and got us wheelchair right away. Great service, sitting in D lounge…follow up on lounge thread.

Ugh so awful about bags. Hope it’s soon fixed. Wonder if this has occurred elsewhere for AS F pax.
