The "Denali" Thread
In a nod to the Alaska Airlines - Views from Above the Wing thread, think it's a great idea to pay homage to "The Great One"
Post away your photos or special flights.

I haven't had a circle in a while. Hear someone still flies them.

The only picture I have of this is the one in my head, but it's a beautiful memory. I flew one of the first Alaska flights post 9-11. We flew from Seattle to Fairbanks late one night - there were just a handful of passengers, despite so many people having been stranded for days. The next day we flew Fairbanks to Anchorage and back to Seattle. On our way to Anchorage our Captain got clearance to do a low and slow circle over Denali. It was a beautiful, clear and sunny day. Stunning. We made a complete circle and then he turned around and circled back the other way. It was a gentle reminder after the horrible tragedy of 9-11 that there was still beauty all around us even at such a dark time. I can picture it in my mind just as though it was yesterday.

I am very happy to see AKCuisine response to AS Flyer post.
I have missed posts from AKCuisine and happy to see they are still on FT.
AS Flyer reminds us that beauty is always out there , just waiting for us.

Sadly, I haven't been able to get on a plane since June 2019. These days it's rare for me to even venture more than 5 miles from my house. It's probably a good thing I'm an introverted Alaskan hermit!
( FWIW, I'm a she/her. )

Getting to see Denali is on my bucket list, Anchorage is actually one of my most favorite cities (two photos from Anchorage are my screen savers on my phone) Thanks for posting these photos!

My associate was lucky enough to have his pilot circle Denali today on ANC-FAI. Tomorrow I will ask for permission to post the photo he took. Here is the flight route on FA. Im sure many of you have had this experience, but cool nonetheless!
