Sorry it didn’t work out for you, but at least a fellow Flyertalker could step in and enjoy it . I’ve been checking daily for an F window seat to become available and snatched it as soon as I saw it. This is my first “first flight” so I managed to justify the absurd cost of the award ticket. Plus, now someone else is enjoying 6A in what was a full PC cabin.

I’m very curious what we’ll see. I’m sure there will be media around, but I wonder if any executives will be on hand to make remarks. Is it too much to hope for a sticker/button or some little souvenir?

it’s been on the TV news (KING-5, at least) since Thursday, so it isn’t going completely unnoticed ... have to think AS is aware of the coverage, and that they will have something organized

I was originally booked on AS431, the flight prior. I was going to do a SDC to AS705 when OLCI opened but with a quick call, AS was happy to just move me over without an add/collect 11 hours prior.

I’m hopeful for some sort of recognition. Alaska employees have been touting employee only confidence boosting flights the last few weeks on social media, so it seems like Alaska is leaning into the MAX, vs other carriers quietly sneaking it into service.

From the other thread, AS705 is shaping up to be a fun ride from LAX! Safe travels to All, and enjoy!
I'd love to see pics here in this thread, as it's specific to this vs. the general MAX thread.

Shoot, I got upgraded to first on the SAN-SEA (was in premium). Only seat available was 1C, so I called and went back to premium class with a window! First time I’ve ever declined an upgrade.
unfortunately I’m now row 9, so won’t have as good a view of the engine as my original seat in row 7. Row 6 is available, but runs the risk of getting bumped for a handicapped passenger.

I’m not that bad of a seat mate . I was upgraded into 1C about an hour ago and managed to switch to 1A, the only other open seat. Had I been stuck in 1C, I would have done the same.
