Redeeming AAdvantage miles on Alaska metal to Hawaii

I have some American Air (AA) miles which I plan to try to redeem for four tickets on direct Alaskan Airlines (AS) flights from Seattle to Hawaii next February.
I have two questions
  1. Which credit card, if any, will get us free baggage? My wife has the AS card and I have both the AA cards (which is how I got most of the miles in the first place; the rest came from flying USAir back before it merged into AA).
    • With said credit card, what do I need to do to trigger the free baggage?
  2. I assume that the cancellation policy will be the AA policy? Which currently is $150 for the first ticket and $25 for each additional ticket. Well, cancellation is free but getting the miles back costs that fee.
(I am not sure if I should ask these questions here or in the AA forum, but I had to pick one :-)

1. AS Metal, then AS rules for baggage, AS credit card with MileagePlan number associated with credit card in the PNR to trigger free baggage.
2. AA Miles, used to redeem ticket, AA ticketing/ cancellation rules, as you stated.

(Note that AA allows free date changes on awards, so youll only have a fee to cancel and redeposit)

A datapoint:

I had an AA award itinerary I had to cancel because it was transiting HKG which would have prevented me boarding a cruise in AKL. AA canceled and redeposited without a fee. That was in early February.
