AA has already said they will count flights from October 1st of this year towards earning next years status. I was hoping AS will do the same, I have two east coast trips this month and next and given I am already gold for next year and only have 10k in the bucket through March they seem to be pointless flights (excuse the pun).

Does anyone know what happens at the changeover to the new year on 12/31/2020 > 1/1/2021 as far as miles if you are actually flying at 12AM? For example, what if I leave Hawaii on a redeye at 10PM on 12/31 headed for LAX to land at 5AM on 1/1?
Are the miles credited when I take off? Land? Or, do they actually break them down based on which miles you actually flew in each year?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say Alaska will credit you with 35K to start 2021 with 28K flown. Seems to my simplistic reptilian brain that if they credit you with 35K status miles, then that's what you'll start with. Fly another 40K and when you cross the 75K threshold and you'll get the 50K bonus. There ya go!

This year I have already flown 92000 miles and I got mvpg75k last week with 50000 bonus. Since I did so much flying this year, will Alaska give some incentive for my requalification for 2022.
Alaot, i don't see those 10000 bonus miles in my account when I was doing international trips this year. I hope these come later

Currently the 50% bonus EQM expires on December 31. With 2021 less than 4 weeks away, it seems like we're due for a big update on EQM earning and elite thresholds for next year. They'll announce that soon, right? Shall we... speculate?

We know we'll all start 2021 with those EQM, but when might we expect to learn the rest of Alaska's plans for elite qualification in 2021?

I think it's worthy of a new thread

Finally broke through to Gold with a return MCO-SAN last night. Maybe 15 pax on the plane. Yes I was upgraded! 40,300 EQM thanks to the 1.5.
I'll have 6600 EQM to start the year thanks to the rollover policy.

Welcome to MVPG....I also made it due to the 1.5 promotion.....it seems like the only time I can get MVPG is when they offer some type of EQM promotion so this was definitely the year to go for the Gold! Fingers crossed for something similar going into 2021....
