Does anyone know when N921VA, N922VA, and N923VA are expected to get repainted? Also, will they ever add Chester/Oliver (whoever you think is on the tail, I think Oliver) to N924VA and N925VA? It’s really odd seeing an Alaska Airlines jet without the eskimo (except for some of the special liveries like the Timbers Jet, Spirit of the Islands, or Spirit of Disneyland II to name a few).

Those planes are currently scheduled to be painted between late April and the middle of May.

And will the A320 family jets get AS/AK registrations at some point?
Renaming ships is bad luck. Same goes with aircraft names or signs

I’m certain that that’s not factoring into their decision making. I would assume that if renaming a craft is bad luck, that un-naming one that already had a name would be much worse. Both the QX and VX fleets had names before they were acquired by AS.

Of all the things I’m disappointed about the merger, this one kinda sticks out to me, not because it makes the most difference to the customer experience (it certainly doesn’t), but because it wouldn’t have cost anything to keep the names. I was hopeful that it might even inspire them to give names to the entire combined fleet. But...nope.

They intend to have some sort of plane naming program, for all the planes, starting in 2020.

Any idea on how long it will take to refurb each aircraft? I know the first A320 was in GSO for many months, but I’m guessing the rest will go more quickly.

There will be 4 happy folks who probably weren't expecting to clear the upgrade on a plane with 8F that now has 12F.
