AF returning to SEA!

http://www.portseattle.org/Newsroom/...?year=2017#692

only 5x per week, and DL will still be doing the route. It is still a partner (for now). Service begins March 25, 2018.

What aircraft type? AF has some old miserable widebodies such as the A340. No flat beds and 2-3-2 business class configuration, for example.

Oh my! How could that possibly be a legal way to fly. Did no one think of the poor passengers? OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!

(Flew SEA-CPH on an A340 once in coach...it was great!)

From the article:

The two cities will be served by a Boeing 777-200 equipped with a capacity of 280 to 312 seats for up to five weekly flights. The aircraft is equipped with the latest long-haul travel cabins in Business, Premium Economy and Economy.

It depends on the aircraft type.

I have a few AirFrance flights coming for next year which will help me qualify for alaska, but I fully 100% expect them to no longer be partners come 2018. Delta and AirFrance are way too buddy buddy.

They do have 777-200 with the 2-3-2 J class though. To be honest, I've worked at YVR for a while and I don't know what they use because I've never gone on board. Is there a way to distinguish which config they'd be using? I suspect it's the same as what's used for YVR.

Looking at DL's current partner lineup, the more important question seems to be, how does AF's J compare to Condor's and Icelandair's?

All AF 772 have the new J seats (1-2-1 configuration): updated information about new J seats deployments and other information

The YVR flights have had the new seats on all operating days since June. I flew the route as recent as last month and had the new cabin on both directions. Very nice hard product albeit the departure time ex-YVR sucked - 13:30. Too early to go to bed.
