AS MVP Gold 75K or OneWorld Emerald?
I will be traveling enough to retain Alaska MVP Gold status match for 2018 in the next couple of trips. I moved to the silicon valley from London in July 2016. SJC is the closest airport to home for me. I still have BA Executive Club Gold status and therefore OneWorld Emerald. I have 3-4 (or even 5) international trips (mostly in business) to Asia and/or Europe and quite a bit of domestic travel. My girlfriend is also moving to Seattle and so there will be quite a few weekend trips up and down the coast from SFO/SJC.
Right now, I like having both Alaska MVP Gold and OmeWorld Emerald status. Being able to access private rooms at the CX Wing lounge in HKG sometimes is nice!
I am not sure if I can earn both Alaska MVP Gold 75K and also travel enough to retain BA Executive Club Gold. So I need to decide what to do.
Any thoughts on MVP Gold 75K Vs OneWorld Emerald are most appreciated.

What benefits of MVP Gold 75K & OneWorld Emerald do you use? Or want to use?
Alaska has many OW airlines as partners

So much of this will come down to what you want to get out of your FFP.
I think being 75K is fantastic, here in San Diego I almost never miss an upgrade, and really like Alaska's flexibility when redeeming and changing award trips. If most of your domestic travel will be in AS I'd say go for 75K, if not you may want to spread your flying out and re-qualify for emerald.

To me, if I had the ability to maintain both OWE and MVPG, that would be the sweet spot. However, if you are paying for J internationally most of the time, I'd consider 75K, because of the near certainty of a lot of upgrades domestically if you are buying coach fares on AS. If you fly a lot of international coach, I'd do OWE+MVPG simply for the lounge access that OWE would give you.

I'm in a similar situation as you. My husband currently lives in Orange County so we commute back and forth on the weekends.
I've kept my 75k status primarily for the fact that I am almost always upgraded and when you're commuting on the plane regularly, getting upgraded almost 100% certainly helps. The other big reason I've stuck with 75k is that I can change my flights at any time without issue, which is a feature I use all the time. I'll book flights months in advance and then realize I need to stay home for the weekend. I'm pretty sure that Alaska is the only one (between AA, DL and United) that offers this feature for elites?
When I fly nowadays, it's in paid J so I don't necessarily need an alliance for access to lounges.
Unfortunately, most of my J international business trips are on DL or a DL/AF/KLM combo. I'm going to request a status match to platinum before my next trip and try to maintain 75k and platinum.
Can you earn miles on one carrier and get a status match to OW?

Although BA flies to SJC, SFO is still the major airport in the region.
Keep BAEC Gold for now.
As you know, AS's MP is being finalized after the merger. No need to say, the benefits will be "enhanced" eventually.
Also - there are several choices of airlines for SFO/SJC/OAK-SEA. So you are not obligated to stick with AS. In fact, you may end up with WN and become a A-List member.
