Just got the notification that I've cleared the upgrade for Friday's flight, meaning that AS has upgraded me on my last eight flights of 2017, all as just an MVP. Probably doesn't hurt that all eight are E175 flights on SJC-LAX, SJC-TUS, and TUS-PDX. All eight cleared at T-48 as well.

Thank you, PV. It was just that they were on the "awaiting seat assignments" list as opposed to the upgrade list. I'm G75 And was first on the upgrade list. I'll try calling on my return flight. These glitches.
it is impossible to put in an upgrade cert (i.e., GGU) on the waitlist unless something has changed. you can only apply a GGU if U space is open and the upgrade can be immediately confirmed.
without knowing the details of your status and reservation as well as the others it is impossible to say how 3 others were upgraded. if the process worked as it should, those folks had higher status than you and also had Y fares. if you have 75K status, they purchased before you and also had Y fares and 75K status. however, the process is known to have some flaws.

Upgrade cleared somewhere between T-9 and T-6...I received the e-mail that my upgrade cleared once I landed in SEA.
