To qualify for mileage accrual, please note that your flights must fall within the eligible flight number range below and your flight must be marketed and operated by American Airlines.

same text for BA

so the flight needs to be marketed AND operated by the same airline... so an AA-marketed, BA-operated flight won't count, regardless of the flight number. If the flight number is ALSO not eligible, then you have a double no-no. Why do you think it says "flight numbers eligible" if AS is just going to ignore it? the flight numbers are also restrictive if the flight is BA marketed&operated, that restriction doesn't go away just because you're using a codeshare.
Thanks for the quick reply...
I understand what you re saying, one must be so twisted to understand these rules!
So, will purchase from ba.com then...
Cheers.

That's what the terms say, but people here (myself included) overwhelmingly report that they DO get miles credited for codeshares booked with one partner and flown on another's metal--you just have to make the manual credit request and submit your boarding pass (and no guarantees). Happened for me with some DL codeshares on KLM metal last year.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has experience with changes to an award ticket after travel has started?
My Emirates award has two segments. I have flown the first (in Dubai on stopover now) and hoping to change the second to an earlier flight.
Is this possible? Happy to pay fees etc.

Thanks

The plot thickens...lol
Thats what I would say as a logical person, that they should give the miles on codeshares if its operated by another AS partner, which is the case here...(AA flight numbers on BA metal)
But I guess I shouldn't fool around and should just buy the BA ticket if it can give me the same price.

Thanks for the input!

I'm pretty sure you can as a stopover shouldn't have any married-segment issues. Give reservations a call; I think it will error out online.

If I'm YVR-based and need just like a handful of AA/AS EQM (literally like 13), the cheapest flights to fulfill that criteria will probably be ex-YVR/BLI/SEA AS flash sales, right? like SEA-OAK for 130USD same-day turnaround is probably the cheapest I can see

EDIT: nvm, just realized AS R class earns nill for AA. oh well.

Does it make the most sense to bus to SEA and fly back to YVR or v/v?

it WOULD make sense, if SEA-YVR oneways weren't so goddamn expensive...

edit: like, probably around 170CAD for the flight and 30CAD for the bus.

I was booking an award ticket on CX flights, which I cannot book online. I called in to book and I was charged phone booking fee for AS airline. Do you have any luck with waiving the phone booking fee when booking CX flights?

Nope. The phone booking fee still applies even back when most partners were not bookable online

My apologies in advance, but I've not had luck finding this with search. What is the general consensus on how long newly awarded MVP status takes to reflect with partners? Speaking specifically about AA and DL.

AA started recognizing my status only a day or two after AS first did. DL took at least a few more days, and for an existing reservation with them I had to remove and readd my MP number to get the benefits. (How I wish AS would let you do that without calling...)

I an AA EXP flying on AS (booked on aa.com). My AS reservation shows my status. Since AS is not OW what, if anything, will AA EXP status get me flying on AS. (I know as an AC member I get admittance to the BR). In particular, would I be allowed to standby for an earlier flight? Pre boarding with MVP?
