Flying AA, rebooked on DL, crediting AS. How to get original route credit?
I'm currently flying a return originally booked as TUL-DFW-ATL on AA. I'm crediting AS. After WX delays would have made me miss my connection at DFW I was kindly rebooked on a DL direct flight TUL-ATL without request, just paged to return to the AA desk for a rebooking. I added my AS number to the DL ticket at the kiosk and was automatically added to the upgrade list (currently #2 for 3 seats and t-minus 1.5 hours).
My question is what is the process to apply for original route credit? Do I do that through AA, AS or (I doubt) DL? It's not a huge mileage difference, but right now I'll barely requalify for MVPG based on my expected travel for the rest of '14, so every little bit helps.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Well, even if I don't the orignal routing credit I did at least get the upgrade. When I moved from DL to AS I honestly never expected to see another DL upgrade but, sure enough, I got one. Granted it's a CR7 so it's not exactly a Lie Flat and a meal, but I'll take what I can get.

I think you would have been better off to leave your AS number off of the replacement flight.
My husband was re-routed from AA (PDX-DFW-ATL) to a DL nonstop (PDX-ATL) last year. He doesn't know anything about frequent flyer miles, so didn't put his AS number on the DL flight.
I contacted AS Customer Care and they have him ORC for the AA flights.
I think it's more difficult to obtain if you've already received AS credit for the DL replacement flight.
It's worth a shot, though. --- I'd follow the procedures for obtaining credit for missing partner flights --- but be prepared to say that you're willing to give up the credit for the DL flight.

I asked the original question before getting the upgrade (sitting in the "Business Lounge" at TUL waiting for the delayed DL flight). I wouldn't be too upset if I didn't get the ORC because I did get the upgrade.
That said, it sounds like the answer is to start with requesting ORC through AS?

AS Customer Care by phone said that once the DL miles posted they would manually add the difference to make up the ORC, but did recommend I hold on to all documentation until then (I have original AA BPs, Delta BP, and AA Receipt for the rebook). I'm not trying to get the DL miles AND the ORC, so this seems like a perfectly logical/acceptable response from AS.
