I cant believe some people fell for this. I spotted the joke once I saw Star in the thread title. Using OW or that other alliance would have made it more believable.

Very nice attempt, particularly because some actually fell for it. I'm always more impressed with subtler hoaxes.

I actually misread that at first ... question is, did AS operate any of those before? (Since AS did run to Eastern Russia 'back in the day')

Alaska Airlines did serve these cities with regular scheduled service, in addition to VVO, UUS, and KHV - all on one big circle route. Now that was a heck of an MD-80 flight.
