Exclamation HA GDS cutover to SABRE 4/22/26 [LAST FLIGHT?] and assoicated schedule changes

It seems we are now under a month out of another milestone with AS' acquisition of HA.

The final HA Amadeus flights depart on 4/21/26. Subsequently AS seems to have cut the schedule for late night flights (from the islands, inter-island and international).

When is the last flight? Is it from KOA/LIH/OGG-HNL or something else? I did some digging earlier, but didn't figure out anything concrete. Just a severely truncated schedule for that night.

Last long haul flight should be this one:

If you want to go by latest departure that is.

If you want to go by latest arrival I think it's this one:

JFK is UTC-4 and HND is UTC+9, so the HNL-HND flight arrives at 10:25 am UTC and the HNL-JFK flight arrives at 10:50 am UTC.

Last inter-island flights depart HNL 7:35 pm to ITO, 7:40 pm to KOA, 7:45 pm to OGG, and 7:49 pm to LIH.

Last inter-island arrival should be HA 1221 from ITO at 8:39 pm.

Flying my last 173 ticket this weekend. I’ve been buying 027 for a while now but this one has been on the books for a longer while.

HA GAs seem pretty mixed in their feelings about how smoothly the cutover will go. I’m mildly optimistic that the disruption will be limited, but I’m also a lot less frustrated than a lot of HA flyers, maybe because I’ve been more willing to tinker around to figure out what’s working at any particular time.

This week in both SAN and PDX they had HA folks shadowing AS gate agents, I assume to see how Sabre works vs Amadeus.

Agent said its a much different version, so its not like they can just go back to what they were doing pre-Amadeus.

I would hope there is also actual training going on as well beyond just watching another person work.

Should be fine I think...

HA has a big drawdown in flights that night to aid in the switch it seems.

Related to the cutover

HA app will only work through April 21. Any travel on HA after that will need to be on the integrated Alaska Hawaiian app. Press release says AS app will start updating today. If you are using the HA apps it will not update, you will have to download the Alaska Hawaiian app.

Thanks for sharing.

Funny, I saw the 1:50 AM departure from SEA... that does not exist. Looking at sched's that day, it's actually a 1:50p departure.

I am sure there is, it seemed more like they were watching along to see how things work in reality, I am guessing the procedures and checklists are all merging into one consistent set.

HA app has been mostly non-functional for a while now. My AS app has yet to update to the new, "integrated" version, and the check-in process has also forgotten how to enable adding BPs to Apple Wallet. OTOH at least I can check in and generate BPs for tomorrow's flights, which is an improvement over having to check in at the airport and get paper BPs for yesterday's flights. Yay?
