In AirTran's email to me, no header reading "earn double a+ rewards℠ credits toward elite status" appears.
The only place "elite" appears is in the T&C exclusion. The header reads: "Earn double credits on your Atlanta flights!"

Consider every *.* (period) the start of a new paragraph as most of us non-lawyers would read/write it.
If there is a *,* (comma) it will be something conditional or added to previous wording usually with an "and" or "or".
Did you by chance quote that header from the original system wide promo or it's extension where bonus credits did apply toward Elite? These are two different promos.
