Etihad and Jet Airways remain active partners with status benefits.

Are you sure about 9W? It doesn't show as a TB partner on the website.

Well, I can't be sure in anything, but their website states that: https://topbonus.airberlin.com/web/tb/etihad?tab=4

I got a brand new card in the mail today. It still has the same template with the Air Berlin and OW logos on it. The other interesting thing: my card and the website say silver status until 2/19. My silver status was supposed to expire the end of September. Not that it does me any good, but maybe there will be another status match? (I got the Finnair match, but didn't apply for any of the others because I thought my status expired)

you are not the first or the last. To know the real value of your miles just multiply by zero.

we all have the predicament our miles are worthless

You can redeem your miles for flights with Germania and Condor. Please take in to consideration that this offer is really bad 20000. Miles are worth 40.00€

It seems there is finally a way to use AB miles

Book accommodation on the promotion page
https://www.rocketmiles.com/topbonus...ource=topbonus.
Enter your topbonus number during the payment process.
First and last name when booking must match your topbonus profile.
5,000 miles will automatically be deducted from your specified topbonus account. The deduction of the miles can take up to 3 working days.
Only if you have enough topbonus award miles and they can also be deducted from your mileage account, you are entitled to a cashback.
You will receive € 25 cashback once you have completed your stay. This can take up to a business day.
If canceled outside of the cancellation period, no miles will be refunded
Failure to travel will result in no miles

Quick update....topbonus platinum service confirmed the following

With your topbonus Platinum Status you're entitled to use the Business-Lounges of the Etihad Airways Partners and extra luggage. Fore more information about all benefits, please visit the following Website : https://www.topbonus.de/web/tb/etihad

I still expect to have to fight my corner to get Etihad to do so, but let's see.

re:rocketmiles
Do they just overcharge for all hotels or they show only expensive options or both?

They filter out cheap hotels (you may only be getting hotels 50+ USD/night) and normally their prices tend to be higher. This doesn't mean, however, that these will actually be higher in every given case.
