yes, Cam Wallace has them in his sights unfortunately. I had an AirNZ flight a couple of weeks ago. I was looking forward to being “ home” compared to my regular QF flights, but was underwhelmed.

this isn't Works' Deluxe (as it isn't always available), but it is offering the main benefit of it. Now if QF offered Space Plus equivalent pitch (other than in Row 4), then it really would be closer competition.

Air NZ launched Twinseat probably 15 years ago. Most people just don't seem to be aware of it (and flights are so full it's hard to benefit from it).

Yep, know that. This was replacing WD so pax can buy at booking. seat free guarantee was the highest driver for buying WD.

This frustrates me no end. NZ's WLG service is just a joke now. Such a far cry from the many years of double daily flights each way on WLG-SYD. Combined with their much reduced frequency on WLG-BHE (my other most-visited domestic destination) thanks to larger aircraft it's just a vastly inferior offering to what it used to be.

"ask Air New Zealand's check-in counter staff on the availability for your flight" and "availability at check in" - so can't do on app and shouldn't check in on app if you want to do this?? 🤔

This product has existed since around 2009 so long before OLCI was really even a thing for longhaul.

Obviously it's going to mean moving seats in many cases if the seat next to you is already occupied.
