Post ZK-NZL schedule?

Hi guys, are any of you privy to NZL's schedule over the next week or two? I'm aware that it is doing a couple of SYD returns tomorrow however we are flying out to LAX on NZ6 on 22nd Oct. I noticed seat select is no longer available for that sector of our booking and it has me wondering if there has been a planned aircraft substitution (normally 777W). Have not flown the 787 yet.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

A 789 would not be used as a one off swap for a 77W due to crew issues.

There is still one non refit 77W in service - your flight has no doubt seen swapped from this.

.
It would also result in 30-40 J/PE passengers getting downgraded to Y, so likely would never happen.

The code 2 789 laylout has around half the premium seats that the 77W has.

occasionally NZ 5/6 is served by 772 so if there is a chance for a test run and minimise downgrading J/PE pax (PE is minus 7 but J is plus 1), they can consider a swap. It would give more Premium seats so Op-Ups is way better than the other direction - a problem might be for Y that it B789 V2 holds a lot less then B772 (minus 31) - it makes a swap quite impossible unless loading on PE and Y are relatively poor. I have not put in Sky Coach but bookings has been quite week? Have they ever load it with 3 pax in the original seats or this is what they do if Y is over booked?

B789 V2
J 27
PE 33
Y 215

B772
J 26
PE 40
Y 246

B77W (refurbished, for completeness)
J 44
PE 54
Y 244

A "test run" such as that would involve paxing a flight crew over 2 days before and paxing cabin crew over the day before just to bring the plane home since 777/789 crews are totally different.

You then need to pax the crew that took the plane over. That's a lot of effort when there is no benefit.

Has anybody seen the delivery date for NZM? I believe this was going to be mid Nov originally.
