AKL-HKG. Type of aircraft?
Hi,
I intend to fly to NZ from EU in November. One of flights I take into consideration is CX via HKG. As far as I see, on route HKG-AKL CX cooperates with NZ which operates on B787 and B777-200. I'd like to ask, how big is the difference between C in NZ B787 and NZ B777-200? Is the second one much worse than the first one? Where can I find a schedule of operations of both types of aircraft on this route (if such is available)?
Thanks in advance :-)
Best regards, Bartek

November 2017 will probably be using the brand new 787 config that's only due to arrive late next year. This has more BP and PE seats in it. I couldn't imagine Air NZ putting the current planes on the route as it doesn't have enough premium seating.
As for the difference between the current 787 and 77R the only difference in BP is a slightly narrower seat on the 787. There are numerous discussions on here about it and people on here who would avoid the 787 because of this rather than the other way around as you're suggesting.

Old config 789's are the worst experience for Economy. Given the option I'd take the 773 any day. The tinting windows are a novelty that quickly becomes gimmick.
Up front the J angle seats are no where as private and you have full view of other pax.
