New year sale ends 14JAN10

The usual great new year fares for Australia and Pacific in both economy & business.

Some good longhaul fares, in all three classes.

For details on the biggest savings to Australia see real cheap air fares.

I plead that it is easier to make airport codes up than to look them up. Or in the alternative that NZ when using the codes VLI and NOU, should have also used IUE.

I take it you'd have to go on the phone to get those Korea fares? It seems silly to not put them on your website.

PPT is excellent value. $1500 return in J which nets 420 AP$ and status points.

Sure is!!

Looking at booking one.... and the flight back I'm looking at is on TN.. which would be a new aircraft for me so I'm pretty keen....

I assume that as it is a "proper" codeshare the full Tahiti - AKL "Partner Airline" Status Points would apply?

There is however that fine print about various fares/booking classes on partners not accruing fully or even at all.....

Am I paranoid/reading too much into it???

I believe you would only get the $A and not the status points for that flight.

nope nothing on tn unless its changed i did it 18 months back and had a row with ap as i flew back tn and nearly missed status. with one flight a week its a expensive option if u want anything other than a straight mileage run , i also read its tricky to even do the straight turnaround on this flight???

I assume that the business and premium economy seats to Canada are eligible for Aeroplan miles?

According to Aeroplan these booking classes are eligible: C, D, Z, J, U, E, O, A, Y, B, M, H, Q, V. I wasn't able to decipher a booking code from the post.

AKL-SYD gets A$85
AKL-PPT gets A$210

Why does PPT get so many more A$ than SYD, going by the PPT rate SYD should be atleast A$120

Because normally the PPT fare is much more than 1.25 times the SYD fare.

I think it's the first character of the 'fare bucket', from a construct comprising [1 character = fare class] + [2 characters = destination / region] + [n characters for sale reference]. e.g. AEUNYS for A class Premium Economy, to Europe region, in the N[ew] Y[eah] S[ale].

If that's correct a similar fare in the annual 'Earlybird / Northern Lights' sale would be AEUBIRD.

Can anyone else clarify if my understanding of 'fare buckets' is correct?
