Elite award availability class on KLM

Elite award availability class on KLM
I was looking for a possible award ticket KUL-AMS-CDG on KLM. First I did a usual quick KVS search. I wasn't very optimistic about the availability since KVS showed J9 C9 S9 B9 M9 only (looking rather full). I thought that award would be available only if W class would show up.
Since I wasn't sure of the booking class for award ticket on KLM I gave it a try on the AF website. My big surprise was that the availability tool proposed me an award ticket for the standard miles rate of 40000????
I reallly though that only W class would apply to award ticket?
Which class is KLM using for Elite award availability?
