Broken F suite - worth complaining?

What i mean is that from what I have seen some aircraft operate on the same route every day (not always but often). Now if one of the seats in inoperable on that flight why cant they just make it unavailable? (AF crew reports it to someone high up who blocks the seat). Would it be that impossible to do?
