There are three levers at the base of the seat on the left side. One lever would allow the leg rest to raise, but the other two didn't seem to do anything. They worked on the seat for some time, removed the cushion, and manipulated everything they could find. The seat would not recline. Apparently, maintenance service back in Paris could give them no advice on recling the seat manually.

Can anyone confirm whether you get fast-tracked/escorted through CDG immigration/customs when flying in P/F into CDG from a longhaul like HKG or NRT?
Searching through posts I've not found a definitive answer on this. Despite the bad food reports, if l'Espace Premiere pax get priority through the 5-6am immigration scrum in 2F, it would be tempting to do an award upg to first.

For later arrivals (6 am to 9 am), I cannot speak about 2F but 2E has a fast track lane for immigration ^, quite useful given the number of flights arriving during that slot. 2E is a bigger and more complex terminal than 2F so the arrival process is a bit slower.
HKG and SIN arrivals take place at 2C. The arrival experience has improved a lot since the transfer of US flights to 2E. There is a fast track immigration lane like in 2E (for J, P and Elite passengers IIRC, not only P). Baggage delivery is still too slow IMHO (20 to 30 min). Expect 2C customs to be busier than 2F and 2E customs.

Thx Falco & brunos. It was reading your tips & trip reports that even got me thinking about P in the first place!
For my upcoming BHX-CDG-NRT I think I'll stay in J, and save up to a P award when I've requalified for Gold or Plat in 2008.

three pax and AF ground staff member Henri made their way down to van. a quick trip to another part of 2E. all four of us went through security (they opened up a lane). a few minutes of brisk walking trying to keep up with Henri. arrived at premiere lounge, where Henri started a discussion with the lady running the lounge: "lounge is for departing passengers only, Henri." "but I was told to bring them here!" etc. etc.
as all three of us had departing flights from 2F, Henri once again pulled up the van and off to 2F we were. cleared immigration, followed by another round of security. laptop out of bag, belt out of trousers.
Henri then proceeded to take us to the business lounge at 2F, which I left immediatly to get on my connecting flight.
the effort is there, but the details need some work. on my outbound flight two weeks earlier the reception at CDG was great: lady waiting for me at the gate, whisked me through security, asked several times if I wanted to use the lounge while my LAX flight was leaving in 45 minutes, etc etc. really felt like a special treatment.
