Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think so - very few flights to CFE at all now - it's a short flight (for which I suspect it wouldn't be worth the hassle in any case).

Worth noting that if you miss your connection, AF would probably accept to reroute you to a different airport - such as LYS or BOD if you wanted and if it makes for a better alternative.

Thanks - but it really wouldn't make much sense. If I miss the morning CFE departure, I also miss the morning LYS departures, so it would be an afternoon flight to LYS. Train from LYS would involve getting to Part-Dieu (from memory ~0h30), then a TER for at least 2h30 - obviously schedule dependent. BOD is a complete non-starter - I'd be looking at 6h30 by train from Bordeaux to Clermont-Ferrand..... via Paris!

No more flights ORY-CFE for several years, unfortunately.

Indeed, I just didn't know where you were going (a lot of people fly to CFE as en entry point to other areas east or west of it, some of which can be practical from LYS or BOD but if you are going to Clermont itself, there is basically no great plan B)

In case anyone is remotely interested in how this turned out - my inbound flight was 50 minutes late. But my connecting flight is also 50 minutes late - all weather-related.

Thank you all for your help in scenario planning!

i am currently sat in terminal 2G... which has lots of chairs which look nice, but which are very uncomfortable!

Happy to read that it all panned out correctly.

I actually find the weirdly shaped couches in 2G to be quite comfortable though.

Have a pleasant stay in CFE, and enjoy the rugby game tomorrow (if your trip is indeed for ASM vs. Glasgow).
