New A350 routes

Hi,
Is there a running list of current and upcoming destinations for the new A350 config rollout? I believe YVR was the first one last summer.
Thanks

(This thread should probably be moved to the AF forum)

There's not really a consistent set of destinations that get the new A350s. At this point, making a booking more than 24 hours out with an expectation that you'll get a new A350 is likely setting yourself up for disappointment.

So far in 2024, the new A350s have been to (as far as I could collect from FR24):

18 turns: JFK
16 turns: HKG
13 turns: EWR
10 turns: LBV
9 turns: HND
6 turns: DEL
5 turns: ORD, LFW
3 turns: LAS, LAX, PPT, ACC, AUH
2 turns: BOG, IAH, LIM, BZV/FIH, YUL
1 turn: DTW, MRU, MAA, CAI, DLA, TNR, EZE, BEY, FOR, YYZ, BOM

HKG and EWR (not counting LAS...) are likely the only destinations where a majority of A350 flights have been with the new config
ATLCDG and wuzziduzziman like this.

I am booking a couple of flights to Paris for the next few months and it looks like SFO will have an A350 with the new cabin as the 2nd frequency (the night time departure).. The 777 with the older business class and La Premiere is still the standard flight for the afternoon departure.

It appears that EWR-CDG has been temporarily downgraded to the B777-200 (presumably due to the Toronto tail strike). At the moment only listed as a 777-200 for the rest of the week, hopefully they don't extend that further!

Just be aware you unfortunately can't always count on AF to fly the A350 consistently even when it is scheduled. Was supposed to fly the A350 CDG-JFK last weekend and because of ops issues many of us were downgraded out of business when they switched the aircraft to the 777 leisure config.

Perhaps not related to the tail strike then!

What sort of compensation did they give you?

It was an award booking. Had to submit a claim and waiting to hear back.

No compensation is due for an aircraft type change. You buy a class of travel to go from A to B. The aircraft operating the route is never guaranteed.

In this instance the swap resulted in a cabin class downgrade, so compensation is due.

What do you mean by fare class? If you travel in a different cabin (Premium Economy instead of Business for example) then yes compensation is due.
