AF change from 350 to 777 ATL - CDG route

Any insight into why AF is changing from a350 to 777-200 out of Atlanta in the first week of December?

also anyway to get Skyteam privileges earned on delta applied to an AF award ticket?

It appears one flight will be a 787-9, and one will be a 777. Some time in Feb the 777 will be replaced with a 350.

currently it is the a350 and they’re changing it to 777-200 on 12/4 or 12/5.

Operational and/or planning issues probably. You're never guaranteed a specific appareil when buying a plane ticket, as it might change up to the last minutes.

they’ve been running the a350 for months. They change it to a 777-200 after December 4 and going forward. So they downgraded the equipment on the rout going forward. It’s not an operational issue change.

This is a non-event. All airlines, AF included, change aircraft regularly if they need to. There could be tons of reasons, including maintenance of planes.

DIdn't say it was an event, I was just looking for insight into why they were downgrading the route.

not sure it can be considered as a true downgrade, sincerely.

Having flown both, I wouldn't consider this a downgrade.

the A359 is far more modern with better cabin altitude and humidity then the 777-2 has. Also don’t they have the new business seat versus the best on 777-2

If it was the newest A350 with the latest business… then yes, that’s a downgrade. If it was the Joon A350… then, I agree with others, I wouldn’t consider this equipment swap to be a downgrade.

I'm taking this flight on Feb 18 in coach. Currently a 777-200. The dreaded 10-across. 19J with the extra legroom will hopefully make it bearable.

First ever Air France metal after many Delta TATLs. What should I expect?

The vast majority of A359s have the Joon/Polaris seat (21 vs. 4).

I survived LAX-PPT in 19C. Expect your feet to be run over by trolley carts.

Thankfully the next 2 l/h flights will be in 787s up front.
