Did they report the nose wheel problem *before* they got off the asphalt?

Or was the "nose wheel problem" just the spin they served you as the description for having driven their plane off the asphalt?

So what's the secret to figuring out what fin is operating? Is it in KVS somewehre that I'm not bright enough to find?

The selfish reason is I'm on AC01 this aft (thanks to AC canceling tomorrow's flight), and had wanted to check since I'm batting about .125 on AC01 in terms of actually getting to NRT on the right time/day.

Good to know it won't impact me, and fingers crossed there is no spilled liquids, burning IFE system, mysterious smells, crazy pilots, or sun spot activity.

AC has one spare 777 in the system you should have a plane.... now what whacky thinkg will go wrong who knows.... perhaps the wipers on the plane wont work.... that will ground it for 12 hours... [ i told the pilot to look out the window and wipe it off with his hand]

CRJ, exactly. Didn't know flap problems weren't unusual.

what's with all of the air canada incidents lately?
  • crazy pilot going to LHR
  • turbulence from victoria to toronto
  • tire blow out
  • 777 skidding off the runway
Probably more "unannounced" issues
  • 77L delayed due to not enough # of washrooms working properly on board (they said they can't let the plane go with 2 washrooms, but they figured out that it will be fixed automatically after nearly 90 mins on board)
  • Tap doesn't work
  • IFE doesn't work (77L, 320...maybe I am bad luck)

I had the washroom issue on a 77W (AC015) in Feb. Only 2 of the loos were working and they finally guessed that the system would fix itself when we were airborne. Thank goodness it did or it would have been a long flight with only 2 in service.

On the ground mechanical vacuum pumps are used for flushing. After about 16000' normal atmospheric vacuum pressure is used for flushing hence the reason it should work in the air.

Then the question I'd have is... if you knew that (relatively quickly) why did it take almost an hour for them to agree on that and then start the process to depart with only 2 functioning lavs?

Perhaps because first you have to identify the nature of the problem and only then do you know that it is self-correcting?

Not an issue when at altitude is not quite the same thing as "self-correcting." Which it isn't.

Yep had these problems on both my 777 flights

One J lav not working and one tap in another J lav not working for the first flight on 777W

77L - Two taps not working, then one decides to work.

I never have experienced so many problems on other airlines 777's
