Upgrade question
I am planning a trip to Bangkok before the end of February and I have a dozen SWU. I have the choice of travelling YYZ-HONG KONG OR YYZ- TOKYO then to BKK. Both return flights have I=0 but many empty seats. Both are the same price.
Any frequent flyer can tell me which one will give me a better chance for an upgrade?
I will post on the upgrade thread with the exact dates when my reservations are made to allow someone to take advantage of one of my SWU.

I'm in the same boat. Looking to do YUL-BKK same time frame.
I can get a U fare out of YVR for about 2,000 but no matter what will have to sit in Y for NRT to BKK as it is non-AC.
Anyone have any advice for a discounted J fare on this route? Pls PM if needed.
Thanks!

You can pay for an upgrade at the gate with TG. Try going via HKG, as it is closer to BKK, the upgrade to C on the HKG - BKK portion was 200 USD when I did it back in November. Even if you have to sit in the back, the pitch is good.
