Also poking fun at the Hawaii weather. There really isn't any. We really don't even have crosswinds. The winds are strong but they're kind enough to blow right down the centerline.
I apologise. Long day. 12am YYZ time wakeup call in LHR. Second landing in the 777 a 35 knot straight across crosswind touching the runway like a feather in powder snow.lol...Originally Posted by After Burner

Anyone have any idea what he was doing here? Strange flight number: 7052. A charter, maybe?
That's the annual Toronto Maple Leafs April getaway for golf charter flight.Originally Posted by After Burner
Something unexpected yesterday (Tuesday) at OGG (Maui). I was calling for departure clearance at around 4pm and heard Air Canada 7052 requesting clearance to Vancouver (we stepped on each other). For a second I thought I was on the wrong frequency, but, sure enough, there was an AC 767 parked at one of the gates. That's the first time I've ever seen an Air Canada plane at Maui. Other OGG pilots were also saying they hadn't seen Air Canada here before.Anyone have any idea what he was doing here? Strange flight number: 7052. A charter, maybe?

The bumpiest AC landings I've ever had have all been in HNL. On the last one, in Feb, the FO came on afterwards and said "and you had that landing courtesy of Captain XXXX".

No worries. IMO, any day that involves LHR is a bad day!Originally Posted by acplt

What a great airplane the 777 is. I think the shortest scheduled 777 flight might be Maui to Kona (about 75 miles). I see that flight depart a couple of days each week. The performance must be amazing when it's that light.
