Aeroplan Status Match?
Hi all,
I normally hang around in the NWA forum, but I'm considering moving my business to AC, and couldn't find a thread about this when searching...
Does anyone know if Air Canada will do status matching if someone comes over from another airline? I'm Platinum Elite (highest) on NWA, and don't want to move my business without getting something from the new airline I move to. Any ideas on if AC will do this, and if so, how?

Welcome to FT (at least to the AC corner of it anyway as you said you've frequented the NWA side). In my experience this has been denied when I've asked.
I have a friend who is BA Gold (similar level to you - at the top) and I enquired on his behalf with Aeroplan about comp'd status and they flat out refused, despite the fact that he will bring enough business to be Super Elite with them within a short period of time.
The closest I got was the agent agreed to have someone call said friend but I doubt anything ever came of that as I've heard nothing from him. This was a few weeks ago.
There is a master status match thread available here - you might want to see if any updated information is in there about success with Air Canada/Aeroplan. Good luck!
