While I agree it may have behooved AC to include some fine print as they used to, IIRC, that bonus miles due not count toward elite status, omitting such a reference to me doesn't make the offer unclear. My rule of thumb is don't expect it if it ain't in print.

Well with several trips to UK over the next few months, this couldn't be better timing. Miles are miles so I'll take the extras with thanks AC/Aeroplan!

It's been a while since the double and triple status miles promos though (come to think of it, that's how I became SE in 1998 . . . ) --so I don't expect them any more.

I agree! I have a couple of trips to LHR during this promo and the extra miles are welcome.

Anyone been able to register for this over the phone yet? I'm just getting the regional promos when I phone.

Thanks!

I'm still not clear on this. Is it the case for an SE who has taken the 100% bonus option that the miles awarded will be: 1. 1000 earned Q miles; 2. 1000 for the regular bonus; 3. 1000 for the double miles promotion, for a total of 3000?

Yes and if you fly in J class which will give you a total of 4000.

I returned last Sunday from LHR through YVR and my bonus miles posted today. I received

2179 Elite flight bonus (non Q)
4710 LHR-YVR
2355 Elite flight bonus (non Q)
500 YVR-YYC
250 Elite flight bonus (non Q)
9069 Across the pond bonus (non Q)

For a total of 23422 miles. Sweet!

I have a question, if someone is doing US-Canada-LHR, would they still get the double miles from Canada to LHR?

That's the way the fine print reads, so you can assume so.

Thanks. That is how I read it to but learned not to assume with AC/AE. Also called AE and was told it would for the segment CANADA-LHR not the connecting flights.
