Yes, you are correct. The title was unrelated to the content of the question. Newbie error, I suppose.

I called AC and they said that since the tickets were booked through USAir, then it's USAir's standby policies that are applied and enforced. I'm not sure how this will work at the AC counter where we'll be checking in, but I guess I'll find out.

I'll likely employ my usual strategy: be nice and play dumb . . .

No matter which FFP your points are drawn from, your seat will come out of the W or D buckets, which for most agents are synonymous with free same-day standby. I doubt you will have a problem.
