API for Cayman islands?!?

Today I bought return tickets with the following itenerary: YUL-YYZ-GCM. Now if I look at the online reservation it asks for the "Advance passenger information" for all passengers in the ticket.

I though that this was the case only for travel to the US. In fact when I open the API window it asks for a US address. Do I have to provide the information, or is this just a glitch in the AC reservation system.

Thanks

PS Booked in L with 50% status miles. H class was twice as expencive. M even more.

Yes, it is because you are over-flying the States and there airports could be used to divert if there was a weather or mechanical problem with the aircraft.

Since Canada also requires API, the info requested is likely applicable to your return flight.

So, should I just leave the "address while in the US" section empty?

The "US Address" part sounds like yet another AC.com glitch, I would call AC Res to verify ...

Or could one just say, "in transit", when filling out this section?

I had the same thing asked for an INTL itin, that goes nowhere near the USA. Just don't fill it out, it will be fine.

I think that's basically what you're asked to do if you actually are transiting through the US. From the .pdf:

"If you are transferring to another flight in the U.S. that goes outside the U.S. and your onward flight leaves within 8 hours of your arrival, you need to provide your flight number and destination."

It doesn't say what to do if you're overflying--makes sense to just leave it blank.
