Problems with the "View bookings" function

Is it down? I can't seem to get in -- and I've been trying since yesterday...

I have often had problems with View Bookings, where it will work for a particular itinerary for a while, then it will stop working and I get an error message. Although the error message says the problem is temporary and to try back later, I usually find the problem to be permanent. I have an itinerary right now that I am unable to view, so I e-mailed AC and received the following reply:
Kindly take note that by using the "view bookings" tool, you are able to display reservations the way they were originally booked, if by any reason the original reservation is modified due to changes on the itinerary, schedule changes, etc., the view bookings option will no longer display the itinerary as your reservation has been modified.
I know this is not entirely true, since I have had some schedule changes that show up in View Bookings. However, if there is some truth to this, doesnt it defeat the whole purpose of View Bookings? My main reason for using this tool is to keep track of any changes to my itinerary!

I just used this this morning. For a ticket bought online at the AC site, it worked fine. Then I tried checking for an Aeroplan reward, and that did not work.

However, I was able to check it on the Aeroplan site. Go figure.

By the way, both reservations had been changed (over the phone) as a result of a flight cancellation, and both came up as changed, with no problem. The Aeroplan site had seat assignments, the AC did not.

I guess that AC doesn't consider upgrades a modification....in fact waitlisting also shows up.

"Curiouser and curiouser, cried Alice." I just checked my wife's reservation to CDG. It was made over the phone a couple of months ago and Air Canada has since changed her return flight out of YYZ. Her complete itinerary is there, including the change.

I've not been able to detect any logic behind the problems with the "View Booking" tool. For example, I made a reservation at the end of June for October travel. For the first week or so, I could not get it to show on the AC website; just the error message that they "are temporarily unable to process" my request. Then suddenly, my itinerary was displayed without a problem until this past weekend - now all I get is the same error message again as a month ago. My reservation has not changed at all since I made it, as I'm able to also check it on virtuallythere.

Maybe the problems are with bookings that were not made on aircanada.com? But it's still completely random.

I've had a simmilar experience to others here. Sometimes it works but often it doesn't. Almost all of my bookings are made through the corporate TA, so I don't know whether it works better for bookings through the AC web site.

I also seem to have a lot of problems with other parts of the web site as well. Frequently there are javascript errors, and I can't search for tickets or even search the online timetable. When this happens, the month field shows only 'Jan' and the date field has no values. It's very annoying!

I've recently started using FireFox in addition to IE, and it seems to work in FireFox sometimes when it won't work in IE.

I jusr checked again and ONE of our bookings for my wife DOES NOT work while another for the two of us later in the year DOES WORK. BOTH were made over the phone with AC and both are revenue bookings.
Does not seem to be a pattern that at least I can figure out
