HELP Please...need to choose airline program

Ok here's the deal.....Used to be a road warrior.....haven't traveled much over the last two years, just got the word that I will be hitting the road quite a bit, Mostly domestic trans con from Boston with some Europe trips......I have been a United 1k in the past but looking to change.....I've heard their are better programs then mileage plus and Star alliance.......Please..... any suggestions and why? keep in mind home base is Boston.....

Welcome, bf1. Your question is a loaded one and would take more than a simple post to answer all of your needs. I suggest you spend the time to read the link that parnel posted, and to sift through FT to get different perspectives. Not only that, but this is the Air Canada/Aeroplan forum, so we can give you great input on AC/AP and perhaps a little insight on UA and other *A carriers, but I would go out on a limb to say that none of us here are knowledgeable enough on all *A carriers to give you a fair and reasonable assessment of each. bostonflyer1 why don't you try blonde bombers comparison of the various programs and that will help you get some ideas.
